The fire we're waiting for

"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.

Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language." (Acts 2:1-6)

"And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,

‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind;

And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

And your young men shall see visions,

And your old men shall dream dreams;

Even on My bondslaves, both men and women,

I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit

And they shall prophesy.

And I will grant wonders in the sky above

And signs on the earth below,

Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.

The sun will be turned into darkness

And the moon into blood,

Before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come.

And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’" (Acts 2:17-21)

"Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:38-42)

This was the beginning of the new church. This was the beginning of the people of God walking in the fulness of the power of the Holy Spirit with TRUTH and BOLDNESS! I believe like many others that God's wants to pour out His spirit with a double portion, now more than ever.

This year we found ourselves in a shelter-in-place situation. I know there were/are many negative feelings towards the "quarantine" and all that it has brought. However, I believe this is the time gave us to shut ourselves and to get in His presence. I believe it was His desire that we would get our family and affairs in order, to Repent, and to get in position for the next season.

But so many of us were in a rush to get back to the "normal" day to day, it seems many have totally missed it. It has hurt my heart and in a place of repentance for the body of Christ, spiritual leaders, and political leaders. I know that God will still pour His Spirit and I pray that we do not miss Him. It is the Holy Spirit that changes the hearts of men. It is the Holy Spirit that brings provision where there is none. It is the Spirit of God that brings truth, light, peace, unity, and meets the need of each person. We cannot do this with out the power of God. I don't want to live or do the "normal life" things. I won't be satisfied with the worlds norm. God is calling us to more and desires more for us. Will we be busy so with life and shopping and entertaining ourselves, that we are not in position?
