While I may be uncomfortable, I know feelings are fleeting. I am also not one to stay wallowing in my feelings. As frustrating as a life situation may be, one thing I know for sure is God is faithful. I won't be the one to give up early on God, because He did not do what I felt would make me comfortable at the time I was uncomfortable.

Me being an earthly mother would not give my daughter everything she fussed and screamed for, knowing she does not know what's best for her. If she could, she would eat junk all day while watching Dory, Sing, and Zootopia and never taking a nap. However, I know she has a purpose and I want her to live a long life. I will lead her, guide her, and help mold her into a virtuous, loving young woman of God. Why would I expect God to give me all I wanted just because I am uncomfortable?

As I said in my last post, I know the things God wants to do in our life, and no one but Him will get the glory. And let's think about all the stories in the Bible where God intervened but only after His chosen people/person was in an uncomfortable situation. Let's take look at some examples:

The Three Hebrew Boys (Daniel 3)- Jealous men plot against these three Hebrew boys that should be slaves but are favored by the king. This brings them bound in a fiery furnace so hot it burns up the men that throw them in. “Yet King Nebuchadnezzar, "Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king." He answered and said, "But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods."”

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭3:24-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬ They come out of the fire unbound not even smelling like smoke, so the king made a decree that no one could speak against the Hebrew God, and they were promoted.

Daniel In The Lion's Den (Daniel 6) - Once again jealous men plot against Daniel, because he was favored by the king. This plot puts Daniel in a den full of lions. God did not cause the king to give Daniel favoritism in this instance. What He did do was show Himself mighty by sending an angel to close the mouth's of the lion. This was so incredible that the king made a decree that all should fear "Daniel's God".

Lazarus's Death (John 11)- Jesus is told his friend is sick and dying, and He let's him die. Then Jesus goes to visit after he's already been dead 4 days and is stinking, meaning his body was already decomposing (Ew)! Jesus tells them He allowed this to happen so they would believe. All Jesus said was, "Lazarus, come forth!" Lazarus is then bought to new life and not as a zombie.

Man, these stories get me pumped. They make me all the more excited to actually experience the trials, knowing that God will show up. He may not stop the the obstacle from getting in my way, but He will use the obstacles to grow my faith and the faith of those around me. He will also use those obstacles as stepping stones to promote me for His glory and great works! It gets me fired up knowing through my trials of life, God will do a thing so great that even the unbelieving family member will not be able to deny Him! When I am reminded of these things, those negative feelings pass!
