Last year, 2016, was a year full of ups, downs, great steps of faith, moving, and life changes. There were new revelations given and remembering of old revelations. In the midst all the different life changing events and what was going on in our world, there were some memories I want to share with my readers. Most of these memories come from our week and half family road trip! Here it goes...

New Orleans:

Shaun and I had never been to New Orleans together and had been trying to get there for a while. We just wanted some really good food and beignets, of course! We were only in New Orleans for a day. We ate, shopped, ate, rested and ate some more (lol).

Another new experience we opted for on this trip was to stay at an Airbnb. It was pretty nice staying in something with a homie feel without the noise of neighbors in adjacent hotel rooms.

Disney World!!!

This was my first time ever going to Disney World, and it was pretty awesome! We stayed in Florida for about three days. Our plan was to spend a whole day between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Parks, go to the beach, and then do a little sightseeing.

The weather always changes your plans. We also wanted to spend time with my little sister outside of Disney, so we were working around her schedule. Disney World was the main reason we went on the trip. Everything got added afterwards. While Disney was Maddison's 2nd birthday present, I'm pretty sure we enjoyed it the most.

Toddlers need naps and time away from people, so Maddison was ready to go around 3P.M. We were at Disney World from 9:30 A.M. to 8:30P.M. She took a short nap while we rode some rides at Magic Kingdom, then she was back to it! The a quite a few photos that didn't make it, because they just aren't of good quality. We saw lions, antelope, and other animals from the Sahara, but it was all at nigh (sad face).

Savannah, Georgia

We stopped in Savannah to visit our sister for her birthday and spend some time with her. She is a college student far from home, so she really appreciated it. While we happened upon some historical monuments. This sculpture captured my attention, because it is depicting the Haitian men that fought in the American Revolution to help America gain its independence. However, whenever Haiti is destroyed by a natural disaster, many Americans do not care. Shouldn't we show the same kindness they have shown to America?

South Carolina

Here was our resting spot. We went to visit my god-mother that had not met Maddison in person. We were so tired, we rested most of our time there and didn't do our hair or get dressed up. It was much needed!

Tennessee

We stopped in Nashville, Tennessee to visit some friends of ours. Lauren and I met at church and we were both pregnant. We have been friends since and just love them! We also love the mountains and true fall season with fall colors in Nashville. The weather alone almost had us moving there!

Louisiana

Our las stop before coming home was out in the country of Ruston, Louisiana. Here we visited with Papa! Maddison got to play with the dogs, pet and feed a horse for the first time, ride on an ATV with Daddy. I got to drive an ATV, but Shaun was much better at it. I let him do the crazy tricks on his own (lol).
