Are You Willing to Risk Your Reputation

“You can’t build God’s reputation if you’re not willing to risk yours!” This statement resonated so strongly with me as I sat in Hope City’s service this past weekend. I made up so many excuses to why I was unable to do all that God called me to do. I worried about what others may think. I worried about our finances and how we would make ends meet. I worried about not hurting people’s feelings or stepping on someone’s toes (I was told I did it a lot in the past). I gave God problem after problem as if He is not bigger than them all.

Every message that I have heard these past three weeks has been everything I needed to hear to get back on the track God has for my life and to fully walk in my purpose. Thankful for that!

About three months after my husband and I were married God began to speak to me on promises He had for our life

on top of the dreams He gave each of us before marriage. Since then I have been saying, “God’s about to do something great!” “God is up to something!” As the months and years passed, God gave us more visions and dreams. Along with every great vision came opposition, which we’ve allowed to take our focus off of the things God’s called us to do. We’ve often put off those things to “ensure the bills were paid” or to have “stability”.

When God spoke to me a few weeks ago about obedience and doing the things He has called me to, He also reminded me of times past when He ALWAYS provided for me as I obeyed. The greatness of every promise God has given us will require us to look foolish as we step out on faith. It will require us to believe God has our back. It will require full obedience no matter how it looks to people.

Pastor Jeremy Foster of Hope City brought up really great examples of people who walked in full obedience to God no matter how crazy they looked doing it.

1. Noah and the Ark (Genesis 6-8)> It had never rained before, and it took him over 100 years to build the ark.

2. Joshua and the Israelites Receiving the Promise Land (Joshua 6)> their battle plan was to walk around a city quietly then shout aloud on the seventh day.

3. Jesus and the Crucifixion (Matthew 27:32-56)> He was crucified between two rebels as He wore a crown of thorns.

Where would Noah and his family be if he had not built the ark? How much longer would the children of Israel have to be in the wilderness if they had not obeyed God? Where would all of us be if Jesus had just complied with the Pharisees and obeyed the laws instead of God?Not only does God want to manifest the promises He has for you in your life, but He also wants to use you to be a witness to others. Step out on faith, obey the voice of God no matter how foolish it seems, P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens), and be patient with the process. God cannot and will not let you down!

“Where God gives vision He will give provision!”
